Welcome to the largest tech startup competition in Romania!
Pitch your idea in 1 minute in front of the public. Inspire the audience, find team members, and go on to build your prototype with mentorship and lots of coffee. At the end, pitch your prototype in front of the jury, renowned IT professionals – and keep you fingers crossed for the selection.
Main check-points in the Hackathon:
Fast pitch: present your idea in 1 minute
Crowd voting: sketch your idea on posters and let the audience choose; each registered participant elects her or his best three product ideas
Jury selection: based on popularity, technical and business merits, the jury selects the teams to continue in the competition
Team-forming: participants get some moments to regroup around the winning ideas; this is also your chance to recruit some (more) members!
Development: turn your idea into a minimally viable prototype, with mentors’ guidance, brainstorming, and teamwork.
Final pitch: address the jury in 3 minutes and make them see your product!
Jury selection: the best teams are selected to continue in the Innovation Labs startup school.
See you there!
Meet top entrepreneurs and business professionals in weekly interactive lectures. Find out what they have to say on high-tech careers, product vision, leadership, product and team management, lean startups, mobile experiences, startup finance, and reinventing oneself through trial and error. Get to know like-minded people and chart the Romanian startup ecosystem.
Join Tech Talks from the 4th of March to the 13th of May, each Tuesday between 19:00 and 21:00 in EC004 Amphitheater, inside the Automatic Control and Computer Science Faculty, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
Teams meet their mentors in weekly coaching sessions, for feedback and insights. Groups of 4 teams share their progress, setbacks, and challenges, and get guidance from tech entrepreneurs and business experts. Discussion checkpoints include product vision, business models, technology choice, team management, user and customer discovery, product lifecycle, branding, finance, and pitching. Learn from shared experiences and move forward with confidence.
Up to the challenge?
Each team has the opportunity of a three-minute pitch in front of media, peers, and a panel of judges. This is a good chance to receive constructive feedback, to get media traction, and bounce ideas off experienced business experts and potential users.
After the Hackathon, Boost Day is the second public presentation and moment-of-truth for participating teams, in anticipation of the final Demo Day event.
It’s show time!
Get up on the stage to pitch your team and product for a panel of top managers, entrepreneurs, tech angels and investors. With an audience of more than 200 people, there are ample opportunities to find users, fans, collaborators, investors, and to ramify your social network.
Demo Day is also media time – as teams strengthen their reputations and media traction.
Bring your prototypes and prove your progress! Dress code: tech-elegant.
